Colleyville police say a man and a woman died inside a home this weekend. Officers believe the man shot the woman. Then he shot himself.

Officers went to a home on Saturday, September 12. It is in the 5300 block of Bluebonnet Drive. The call came in around 4:15 p.m. It was a death investigation.

Inside, officers found a man and a woman. Neither one was breathing. Colleyville firefighters checked both of them. Firefighters pronounced the man and the woman dead at the scene.

Police say the woman died from gunshot wounds. Police say the man had a gunshot wound too. His wound looks self-inflicted. That means police think he shot himself. Officers found a handgun near him.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office will do autopsies on both people. That office will also say how they died. Right now, police have not shared the names of the man or the woman. Police want to tell the families first.

Colleyville police say the case looks isolated. That means police do not think anyone else is in danger. Police said the case poses no ongoing danger to the community.

Grapevine police helped work the scene. Crime scene investigators from North Richland Hills helped too. Colleyville police say the investigation is still open. Police have not said if the man and woman knew each other well. They have not said if the two were dating or married. Police have not shared a reason for what happened.

Part of Bluebonnet Drive was closed. Officers needed the space to work the scene.

A note on this story. Both people in this case are dead. Police think the man killed the woman. Then he killed himself. He is dead now. He cannot be charged with a crime. He cannot go to court. El Tejano usually tells readers that a person is innocent until a judge or jury says otherwise. That rule is for someone who is still alive. It is for someone who could still stand trial. It does not fit here. There is no living suspect. There will be no case in court.

El Tejano will update this story. We will share the names of the man and woman if police release them. We will share why this happened if police explain it.
