A man is dead after his car hit a sign on Angus Street in Mission early Tuesday morning. The sign came down. Power lines fell with it. He did not survive.
š WHAT HAPPENED
It was around 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 9, 2026. The intersection of Angus Street and Glasscock Road in Mission.
The driver hit a sign near the road. The sign fell and took power lines down with it.
First responders got there fast. The Mission Fire Department treated the man and took him to the hospital. He died there.
There were no other cars involved. It was one vehicle, one driver, one crash.

Mission police have not released the man's name. They are waiting to notify his family first.
Investigators have not yet said what caused the crash. They are looking at speed, road conditions, and whether the driver was impaired. That kind of investigation takes time.
As of Wednesday morning, this was still an open investigation.
