A woman died from a gunshot on Sunday. It happened inside Westover Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. This nursing home sits on the West Side of San Antonio.

Police arrested Manuel Espinoza, 50, on a murder charge. He is accused of shooting her. One report says he was booked into the Bexar County Jail on a $200,000 bond.

Here is what police say happened. Espinoza was visiting his mother at the home. The woman who died was his mother's roommate. Another report says police have not confirmed how the people knew each other.

Police say the two women had an ongoing fight about the temperature of the room. The report says that fight "may have" started the deadly argument.

A staff member heard people arguing in the room. The staff member could not understand the words. The people were speaking Spanish. Then other workers heard a loud noise. It seemed to be a gunshot.

One worker found the woman bleeding in her room. The worker tried first aid. The woman died from her wound. One report says she was 75 and was shot in the stomach. The other report gave no age. El Tejano is not naming her.

Police say the man left the property. Witnesses gave officers a description of him. Police found him about a quarter mile from the nursing home.

The reports do not agree on the time of day. One says Sunday afternoon. The other says Sunday night.

Now people are asking about safety. Signs at the home say no weapons are allowed. Relatives say a security guard was added after the shooting. One relative said the doors are normally locked and visitors get buzzed in. A reporter found one door unlocked. The nursing home declined to comment.

A former FBI agent asked how the man got inside. He also asked if the home screens visitors.

Police have not confirmed a motive. It is not known how he got the gun. The reports do not name his lawyer. No court dates have been reported.

Everyone is presumed innocent until proved otherwise.
