Deputies arrested a 25 year old Starr County man on Sunday. His name is Erasmo Garcia III. The Starr County Sheriff's Office says he threatened a Salineno family with a gun. Deputies say he threatened to take out everyone in the house.

Garcia now faces a harassment charge. It is a Class B misdemeanor under Texas law. That is a low level crime. It can mean up to 180 days in the county jail. It can also mean a fine up to 2,000 dollars.

The arrest came after a deputy went to a Salineno home. Someone had called about a stranger outside. It happened around 11:46 a.m. This was on Sunday, July 26, 2026. The victim is a 41 year old Salineno woman.

She told the deputy that two people were parked across the street. One was her son's ex girlfriend. The other was the ex girlfriend's new boyfriend. That new boyfriend is Garcia. While the deputy talked with her, she looked outside. She said she saw Garcia making rude gestures at her.

The woman said this was not the first scare. She said Garcia had called her son before. Her son is 22 years old. Garcia called from a private number, she said. She said Garcia threatened to hurt her son. In Spanish, Garcia said, "Te voy a fumar." That means "I'm going to smoke you." She also said Garcia sent her son videos. The videos showed Garcia with his girlfriend.

The woman said Garcia walked up to her house first. This was before the deputy got there. She said he made rude gestures at her. She said he threatened her whole family.

Her daughter also talked to the deputy that day. She said she heard Garcia make a threat. He said it in Spanish. In English, he said, "I'm coming back with a gun, and I'm going to take out the whole family."

The woman told the deputy she feared for her family. She said she wanted to press charges. She also told the deputy about a protective order. It is between her and Garcia's girlfriend. Deputies say that order comes from a different case.

Deputies later stopped Garcia's truck. They arrested him on the harassment charge. They took him to jail.
