A man is dead. His roommate shot him in the chest late Saturday night. It happened on the 1600 block of Vassar Street in Houston.
Police got the call at about 11:55 p.m. They arrived and found the man shot. Houston Fire workers got there too. They pronounced him dead at the scene.
The two men lived in the same house. Cops say they were friends.
HPD Lt. Ali spoke at the scene.
"One thing or another transpired tonight to where the suspect took out a firearm and shot the victim in the chest one time," Lt. Ali said.
Police took the suspect into custody.
What caused the fight? Cops do not know yet. Police say the details of what led up to the shot are still unclear.
No names have come out. No charges have been filed yet.
