A Roma woman is facing two separate charges from two different incidents. One involves breaking into a car. The other involves carrying an illegal drug. Together, she could face years behind bars.
Yadira Hinojosa, 45, of Roma, Texas, was charged with Burglary of a Vehicle and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
The vehicle break-in happened on December 28, 2025. A warrant for that charge was issued on January 5, 2026. The case carries Cause Number 26-002 in the City of Roma Municipal Court. Officer A. Garza, Badge Number 934, with the City of Roma Police, worked the case.
Burglary of a Vehicle means Hinojosa broke into or entered someone's car with intent to steal. This charge is a Class A Misdemeanor under Texas Penal Code 30.04(d). If convicted, she could face up to one year in Starr County jail.
The drug charge came about a month later. A warrant for that charge was issued on January 22, 2026. It carries Cause Number 26-005, also in Roma Municipal Court.
That charge is Possession of a Controlled Substance under Penalty Group 1, under the Texas Health and Safety Code 481.115(b). Penalty Group 1 is the most serious drug category under Texas law. It covers drugs like heroin, cocaine, meth, and fentanyl.
This charge is a State Jail Felony. That means she could face 6 months to 2 years in a Texas state jail if convicted.
