State police need your help. They want to find a Fort Worth man. The Texas Department of Public Safety, or DPS, just named him July's Featured Fugitive. His name is Alejandro Villegas. He is already on the Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offenders list.

This matters to families across Texas. Villegas has been free since January. Court records show he was convicted once before of sexually assaulting a child. He also broke his court rules more than once. DPS says tips from regular people catch fugitives like him. That is why the state just raised the reward. More reward money means more people call in.

DPS says Villegas is 32 years old. He is wanted out of Tarrant County. That warrant has been active since January 2026. He broke the rules of his probation. That probation came from a charge of sexual assault of a child. In March 2026, Fort Worth police issued a second warrant. They say Villegas did not follow the rules that sex offenders must obey. Those rules make him report his address to police.

His record goes back years. In 2017, Arlington police arrested him for robbery. A judge gave him 36 months of probation. In 2022, Grand Prairie police arrested him again. This time the charge was sexual assault of a child. The case involved a 16 year old girl. He was later convicted. He got 96 months of probation. That is 8 years.

DPS describes Villegas as 6 feet tall. He weighs about 185 pounds. He has ties to three cities. Those cities are Fort Worth, Arlington and Dallas. Anyone who has seen him should call police. Anyone who knows where he is staying should call too.

The reward for his arrest just went up. It is now $6,000. That higher amount only counts for July. Texas Crime Stoppers pays out the reward money. The Governor's Public Safety Office funds the program.

DPS picks one wanted man or woman each month. That person becomes the Featured Fugitive. State investigators work with local police departments. Together they choose names for the 10 Most Wanted lists. The idea is simple. More eyes on one face means a better shot at an arrest.

The program gets results. DPS says agencies have arrested 44 of the state's most wanted fugitives this year. That count includes sex offenders and criminal immigrants. Of those arrests, 32 were sex offenders. Eight were gang members. DPS has paid $61,500 in rewards this year alone. Every dollar went to a tip that led to an arrest.
