A man known as "BJ" stood in front of a federal judge on July 1, 2026. He said he robbed game rooms with a gun. He is the fourth of five charged men to admit guilt. The fifth is headed to trial.

Bobby Joe Rosa, a/k/a "BJ," pled guilty to two federal charges. This is according to court records in Case No. 7:25-cr-00349 in federal court in McAllen. He gets sentenced on September 9, 2026 before Chief Judge Randy Crane.

Rosa and four others are charged with two armed game room robberies. The first robbery was March 7, 2024. The second was March 14, 2024. All five men helped each other. All five showed guns during both jobs. This is what the federal superseding indictment says.

The charges are under the Hobbs Act. This law makes robbery a federal crime. That happens when the robbed business has ties to trade across state lines. Game rooms use machines that cross state lines. That makes them fair game for federal charges. Showing a gun during a federal robbery means at least seven years in federal prison. That time cannot be cut short.

All five men had street names. Here is who they are and where things stand.

Jose Juan Ochoa, Jr., known as "Paletas," was caught in McAllen on February 20, 2025. He pled guilty on June 2, 2025. The feds agreed to drop a separate case against him at sentencing. He gets sentenced on July 28, 2026.

Ricardo Rodriguez, Jr., known as "Palio," was also caught in McAllen on February 20, 2025. He pled guilty on June 2, 2025. A written plea deal was filed in court. He also gets sentenced on July 28, 2026.

Eduardo Rodriguez, Jr., known as "Chacorta," was caught in Rio Grande City on February 21, 2025. He pled guilty on August 29, 2025. He made no deal. Sentencing is July 28, 2026.

Bobby Joe Rosa, known as "BJ," was caught in Roma, Texas on June 11, 2025. A grand jury had just named him in a new, updated indictment. He pled guilty on July 1, 2026 with no deal. He gets sentenced on September 9, 2026.

Iraan Martinez, known as "Tachio," has not pled guilty. He was caught in Ville Platte, Louisiana on March 25, 2025. He got out on a $75,000 bond. His jury trial is set for September 9, 2026.

The case was filed on February 19, 2025. The first sealed indictment named four of the five men. A sealed updated indictment filed June 10, 2025 added Rosa and updated the charges, according to federal court records. U.S. Attorney Nicholas J. Ganjei signed that updated indictment. Assistant U.S. Attorney Robert Laurence Guerra, Jr. has led the case in court.

Four of the five men pled guilty. Ricardo Rodriguez filed a written plea deal with the government. The other three made no written agreement.

Three men get sentenced on July 28, 2026. The public will see how much time they get. Rosa and Martinez are both due in court on September 9, 2026. One will hear his sentence. The other will face a jury.
