According to official records obtained by El Tejano, the following details come from criminal complaint documents filed in Starr County.
Jose Lino Ruiz, 36, faces a Theft charge. It is a State Jail Felony. That means 6 months to 2 years in state jail if he is found guilty.
The money was from the RGC Rattler Wrestling Booster Club. The club banked at Texas National Bank.
Ruiz made ATM pulls from the account. He had no okay to do so. He did it from April 6 to May 28, 2026.

The club's vice president made a report on June 15, 2026. That person also works as an assistant principal at the high school. They gave police the bank records. The wrestling coach gave a statement too.
Officer Santiago Alaniz of RGC Grulla ISD Police worked the case. It was filed in Starr County in June 2026.
Ruiz is not guilty until proven guilty in court.
